Faro Cine is a production company created in 2019 focus in cinema production working on creative documentary internationally. Their feature documentary film “Synchrony” has been premiered in the official selection of Hotdocs 2024, Persister programme.
Awarded with Best Documentary Short Film at the INEDIT festival 2021, Chile for the film “Soul Beats” by Eduardo Bunster, release internationally in Alucine latin film festival and media arts 2023.
The documentary film “Volcan”, by Stéfanne Prijot, and coproduced with Iota productions Belgium) was recently premiered in Millenium film festival, Brussels. The film raises reflexions about motherhood in a world in the midst of an environmental crisis. One of their projects in development stage, “Puntales“, with shooting in Canary islands and Bamako, Mali, has been selected in Afrolatam pitching, during the last version of Miradas doc 2024. The work in progress “I Shall Die Singing” by Sebastián Lavados and Eduardo Lavados, a poetic portrait of the life of two peasant singers from the central valley of Chile. “The Dreamers“, by the director Alessandro Galassi, is a coproduction with Italy and takes place in a clandestine school of girls in Kabul, Afghanistan. Was part of the selection of projects in MIA Roma 2023.
Faro cine’s productions have been supported by the EBS Channel, South Korea, the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Sport, Channel 13C, among others. Its project has been part of the selection of the events Conecta, Mia Roma, Miradas doc Afrolatam, DocMontevideo, SANFIC, DocBarcelona Valparaíso, Nuevas Miradas EICTV Cuba, among others. a
Claudia León
Chilean producer formed in the University of Toulouse, France and the Lussas documentary film school. With more than 15 years of experience in productions, she has been behind the success of films like “The romantic exiled”, by Jonás Trueba, Spain, 2014, “Red eyes”, by Villano productions or “Landscape”, the video installation of the artists Enrique Ramirez. She has worked together with channels such as Arte France and France tv in their shootings in Chile. In 2018 she founded Faro cine to produce creative documentary and has participated in Eurodoc international production workshop training in 2022. Among her filmography’s highlights: “Volcan” (Stéfanne Prijot), in coproduction with Iota productions (Belgium), and “Synchrony” (Caro Bloj), filmed in Patagonia and the Atacama desert, world premiered in Hotdocs 2024.
Sebastián Lavados
Chilean director, producer and screenwriter. Studies at the CIEVyC Film School, in Argentina, in the ICEI, University of Chile, and at the Gotham Writers Workshop, New York. He directs and produces the films “Bahauddin”, a short documentary filmed in Cyprus, and “The Vivid Abyss”, a fiction shortfilm made in Paris, both selected at international festivals in USA, Latam and India. Producer of the feature film “Absence” directed by Claudio Marcone (2019), and the documentary TV series HAL08 – Moments of Inspiration. As a screenwriter he has won several awards from the Chilean Film Comission. Currently he is developing the thriller “Night of the Senator” (Script Fund 2020, and BoliviaLAB 2022), and directing his first feature documentary “I Shall Die Singing”.
