The creative documentary directed by Caro Bloj tells the story of Barbara Hérnandez and Ilka Pauletz and their enigmatic relationship with the ocean. Barbara is a well known ice swimming champion whereas Ilka is a survivor of the 2010 tsunami that wreaked the Pacific island Robinson Crusoe. The film weaves these two stories in a universe of water whose nature can be as serene as it is severe.
“The direct cinema it’s the more cinematographic style of documentary. The idea of observing reality, people, or an event, with that very close relationship with truth and immediacy, is the reason why documentary film is constantly reinventing itself”.
