Synopsis
A young filmmaker, Sidka—the director of the film—dives into Buenos Aires’ underground drag scene through his lens. As he follows the unconventional drag artist Orkgotik during his ascent from the underground scene to international fame, in return, he embarks on a personal journey of self-discovery, ultimately coming to understand his own identity as a transgender man.
Sidka Saavedra Vera, Director
Born in Santiago de Chile in 1998, is of Palestinian descent. In 2017, he moved to Buenos Aires to pursue a degree in Film Direction at the Universidad del Cine. Sidka has made significant contributions to the film industry, with a particular interest in documentary filmmaking, music, and sound direction. He stood out in sound direction in the short film Fático, presented at BAFICI 2020, and in the feature-length documentary hybrid Tierra Citrus, which received a Special Mention at the Festival de Cine de las Alturas. While working as freelance in the audiovisual industry, Sidka is also a teaching assistant in the course Técnicas Audiovisuales II at the Universidad del Cine, led by documentary filmmakers Roberto Barandalla and Hugo Manso, and also gives special classes at NYU Buenos Aires at Federico Windhousens’ film course.
Constanza Schmidt, Production
(Buenos Aires, 1999) Argentine audiovisual producer. She studied Producing at the Universidad del Cine (FUC) and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Production at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. She served as a jury member for the Gen Z Award at the Berlinale Co-Production Market and has worked across various formats, including documentaries, short films, commercials, and music videos. Among her short production “Alles aus Liebe” (2025, dir. Eric Weghlener), co-produced with SWR and starring Bibiana Beglau; “Underground Morphology” (2025, dir. Sidka Vera, BAFICI26, SANFIC21, Vancouver Queer Film Festival (currently in distribution).
